Side effects
SciatiEase Side Effects, B6 and Interactions
SciatiEase side effects are usually mild, such as nausea, bright yellow urine from vitamin B2 and drowsiness from passionflower.
Feverfew may slow clotting, lipoic acid may lower blood sugar, and each serving has 20 mg of B6, above the EU limit. Ask your doctor first if you take a regular prescription.

At a glance01
What are the side effects of SciatiEase?
Mostly mild stomach effects, yellow urine and drowsiness. No trial of the product has measured them.
The side effects of SciatiEase are not known from the product itself, because it has never been tested. What we know comes from studies and fact sheets on each label line.
Those sources point to mild effects for most people. Stomach upset, nausea and bright yellow urine lead the list.
The more serious risks are rare and tied to specific people: those on blood thinners, sedatives or diabetes medicine, and those with liver disease.
| Line | Amount | Possible effects |
|---|---|---|
| Vitamin B2 | 25 mg | Bright yellow urine (harmless); diarrhea now and then (MedlinePlus, Riboflavin) |
| Vitamin B6 | 20 mg | Nerve damage only with high intake over time (NIH ODS, Vitamin B6) |
| R-alpha lipoic acid | 250 mg | Nausea, stomach pain, rash, dizziness; lower blood sugar (Linus Pauling Inst., Lipoic Acid) |
| PEA | 500 mg | Generally well tolerated in trials (Artukoglu et al., Pain Physician 2017) |
| Acetyl-L-carnitine | 250 mg | Nausea, cramps, fishy body odor at about 3 g (NIH ODS, Carnitine) |
| Benfotiamine | 200 mg | Well tolerated in a 6-week trial (Stracke et al., BENDIP 2008) |
| Feverfew | At most 50 mg | Digestive upset; may slow clotting (NCCIH, Feverfew) |
| Passionflower | At most 25 mg | Drowsiness, dizziness, confusion (NCCIH, Passionflower) |
| Chinese skullcap | At most 16.7 mg | Rare liver injury reports (MSK, Scutellaria baicalensis) |
Vitamin B602
Is the vitamin B6 in SciatiEase safe?
At 20 mg a day it sits under the US limit and over the European one. Do not add more.
The vitamin B6 in SciatiEase is 20 mg per 4 capsules, under the US upper limit of 100 mg a day (NIH ODS, Vitamin B6). In 2023 the European Food Safety Authority set a lower adult limit of 12 mg a day, so 20 mg is above it.
Too much B6 over a long time can cause sensory nerve damage: numbness, tingling and poor balance. Cases mostly involved 1 to 6 grams a day, but some were reported below 500 mg (NIH ODS, Vitamin B6).
Symptoms usually ease once the extra B6 stops. That makes stacking the real risk, not one SciatiEase serving.
Check any multivitamin, B-complex, energy drink or sleep aid for vitamin B6 or pyridoxine. New tingling or numbness in the hands or feet: stop and call your doctor.
Stomach03
Can SciatiEase cause stomach upset or diarrhea?
It can. Several lines list nausea, cramps or loose stools.
Yes, SciatiEase can cause stomach upset in some people. Lipoic acid can cause nausea and stomach pain (Linus Pauling Inst., Lipoic Acid). Riboflavin may cause diarrhea (MedlinePlus, Riboflavin), and feverfew can cause bloating (NCCIH, Feverfew).
Acetyl-L-carnitine causes nausea and diarrhea mainly at about 3 grams a day (NIH ODS, Carnitine). SciatiEase holds 250 mg, a twelfth of that.
- Take the capsules with a meal, as the brand suggests
- Start with 2 a day for a few days before going to 4
- Drink a full glass of water with each pair
- If loose stools last more than a few days, stop and ask your doctor
Drowsiness04
Can SciatiEase make you drowsy?
It might, because of passionflower, and more so with sedating medicine.
SciatiEase may make some people drowsy. Passionflower, the second herb in the blend, can cause drowsiness, dizziness and confusion (NCCIH, Passionflower).
The amount is small, at most 25 mg per serving. The risk rises if you also take gabapentin, which commonly causes drowsiness and dizziness on its own (MedlinePlus, Gabapentin), or another sedative.
Do not drive or use tools until you know how the capsules affect you. Alcohol adds to the effect.
Interactions05
Which medicines interact with SciatiEase ingredients?
Blood thinners, sedatives, diabetes medicine and some seizure drugs are the main ones.
SciatiEase ingredients may interact with blood thinners, sedating medicines, diabetes medicine and some anti-seizure drugs. None of these interactions has been tested with the product itself.
Herbs carry most of the risk, which is common for supplements (NCCIH, Herb-Drug Interactions). Tell every prescriber what you take (NCCIH, Using Supplements Wisely).
Blood thinners
Feverfew may slow clotting (NCCIH, Feverfew); skullcap may add to warfarin in lab studies (MSK, Scutellaria baicalensis). Stop feverfew 2 weeks before surgery.
Diabetes medicine
Lipoic acid may lower blood sugar (Linus Pauling Inst., Lipoic Acid). Check readings more often.
Seizure medicine
High-dose B6 may lower phenytoin levels (NIH ODS, Vitamin B6); folate interacts with some anti-seizure drugs (NIH ODS, Folate); valproic acid lowers carnitine (NIH ODS, Carnitine).
Other drugs
Folate and methotrexate (NIH ODS, Folate); riboflavin and tetracycline (MedlinePlus, Riboflavin); skullcap lowered statin levels (MSK, Scutellaria baicalensis).

What does the SciatiEase label say about safety?
The panel lists amounts. The warning text is not in the images we have.
The SciatiEase label images we have show the Supplement Facts panel and the front, not the warnings. The brand's own caution is general: talk with a healthcare professional before starting, before taking any medicine, or with any health problem.
The four herbs share a 50 mg blend, so their single amounts are hidden (21 CFR 101.36 (eCFR)). FDA does not approve supplements before sale; makers are responsible for safety (FDA 101: Dietary Supplements).

When to stop07
When should you stop taking SciatiEase?
Stop and call your doctor if a new symptom appears after you start.
Stop SciatiEase and call your doctor if you notice anything new after starting it. Do not wait for the 30-day mark.
- Rash, itching or swelling
- Yellow skin or eyes, dark urine or pain under the right ribs
- Easy bruising, nosebleeds or bleeding gums
- New tingling or numbness in the hands or feet
- Heavy drowsiness or confusion
You can report a bad reaction to a supplement to the FDA (FDA 101: Dietary Supplements).
Red flags08
Which sciatica symptoms need emergency care, not a supplement?
Five signs that point to nerve compression needing urgent treatment.
Some symptoms are not side effects and not ordinary sciatica. Weak legs, numbness around the genitals or bottom, or bladder changes can mean cauda equina syndrome, which needs fast surgery (AANS, Cauda Equina Syndrome).
A supplement cannot help with any of these. Get care the same day.
- Both legsSciatica in both legs at once
- Numb saddle areaNumbness around the genitals or bottom
- Bladder or bowelNew trouble peeing, or loss of control
- Weak legsLegs weak or getting weaker
- After an injurySevere pain after a fall or accident
See a GPIf the pain is not better after a few weeks, is getting worse, or stops you doing normal activities. Most sciatica eases within 4 to 6 weeks.
Call 911For any of the signs above: they can mean cauda equina syndrome, which needs surgery fast. Do not wait to see if a supplement helps.
Signs from the NHS (NHS, Sciatica) (AANS, Cauda Equina Syndrome). A supplement never replaces an exam.
FAQ09
SciatiEase side effect questions
What are the side effects of SciatiEase?
The likely ones are mild: stomach upset, nausea, loose stools, bright yellow urine and drowsiness. They come from studies of single ingredients, since the product has not been tested. Interactions with blood thinners, sedatives and diabetes medicine matter more.
Does SciatiEase have side effects?
Yes, it can, like any supplement with active ingredients. Most people who react get mild stomach effects. People on regular medicine, with liver disease, or who are pregnant should ask a doctor before starting.
Can SciatiEase cause diarrhea?
It can in some people. Riboflavin may cause diarrhea (MedlinePlus, Riboflavin), and lipoic acid and feverfew can upset the stomach (Linus Pauling Inst., Lipoic Acid) (NCCIH, Feverfew). Taking the capsules with food and starting at 2 a day may help.
Does SciatiEase cause constipation?
Constipation is not listed for any SciatiEase ingredient in the health sources we checked. If it starts after you begin the capsules, drink more water, keep moving and tell your doctor if it lasts.
Does SciatiEase cause weight gain?
No source we checked links any SciatiEase ingredient to weight gain. Four capsules add almost no calories. If your weight changes, look at activity first: sciatica often makes people move less.
Does SciatiEase raise blood pressure?
None of the health sources we checked list higher blood pressure for SciatiEase ingredients. No study has measured it with the product. If you take blood pressure medicine, check your readings and tell your doctor you started a supplement.
Why does SciatiEase turn urine bright yellow?
Vitamin B2. Each serving has 25 mg, and the body passes what it does not use in urine, which turns it bright yellow (NIH ODS, Riboflavin). It is harmless and expected.
Can SciatiEase cause tingling or numbness?
It is unlikely at 20 mg of B6 a day, but long-term high B6 intake can cause those symptoms (NIH ODS, Vitamin B6). If new tingling starts, stop, check other products for B6 and call your doctor.
