Third Party Tested Supplements: Seals and CoAs Explained
Third party tested supplements are products checked by a lab that is independent of the maker. A seal or a certificate of analysis (CoA) can show that, but only if the lab, lot and results are named. SciatiEase publishes lot and CoA codes but no lab report, so we cannot call it third party tested.

What does third party tested mean for a supplement?
Third party tested means a lab outside the company checked the product. The lab has no stake in selling it.
Testing can look for identity (is the listed ingredient there), strength (is the amount right), and contaminants. A claim is only useful when it says which tests were run.
FDA does not approve supplements before sale (FDA 101: Dietary Supplements). Independent testing is therefore one of the few outside checks a buyer can ask for. It still does not show that a product works.
| Test result | Shows | Does not show |
|---|---|---|
| Identity | The ingredient is present | That it helps you |
| Strength | Amount matches the label | That the dose is right |
| Contaminants | Limits were checked | Safety with your medicines |
How do you read a certificate of analysis?
A certificate of analysis, or CoA, is a lab report for one batch. A real one names the lab, the lot, the date and the measured results.
A code alone is not a report. A short line such as "tested, passed" tells you little.
- The lab name and contact are shown.
- The lot number matches the number on your bottle.
- Results show measured amounts, not only "pass".
- The test date falls before the expiry date.
Our batch lookup guide shows what to request and how to compare it with your bottle.
Is a quality seal the same as a lab report?
No, a seal is not a lab report. A seal says someone reviewed the product under a program. Check who runs the program and what it tests.
Some seals are earned through audits. Others are self-made badges. The FDA warns that claims of FDA approval for a facility mean little, because FDA does not approve facilities (FDA, Hidden Ingredients).
The only brand badge we know of for SciatiEase is the 180-day money-back seal. That is a business promise, not a test. See the testing and quality page for the full review.

SciatiEase shows lot SE-26/IS-8396 and CoA SE-8396-26-IS. These are seller references, not lab proof, and no lab report is published.
The label does list amounts for 8 of its 12 lines, and the herb blend is a 50 mg total. Read it on the supplement facts page. A label is a claim by the maker, not a test result.
The brand's about page names no testing lab, and it states a claim about facilities that we could not confirm (SciatiEase about page). You can call the order desk and ask for the report for your lot. Write down the answer.
Keep taking prescribed medicine, and ask your doctor or pharmacist before adding any supplement.

FAQ01
Quick answers on supplement testing
Does third party tested mean safe?
No. It means an outside lab checked something, such as identity, strength or contaminants. It does not show the product works or suits your health. Ask your doctor or pharmacist about interactions with your medicines.
Can I ask a brand for its lab report?
Yes. Give the lot number from your bottle and ask for the lab report for that lot. A maker that tests will usually share it. If you get only a code or a vague line, treat the claim as unconfirmed.
Is a lot number the same as a CoA?
No. A lot number identifies a batch. A CoA is the lab report for that batch. Having the first without the second means the batch can be traced, but its contents are not shown by an outside lab.
